Paper, layers and texture... that's where it all starts for me.
I love the process of building a piece one layer at a time, letting textures, fibres and found materials come together to tell a story. My work isn't always obvious at first glance, and I like that. I hope it encourages people to slow down, look a little closer and discover something different each time.
I'm drawn to the imperfect, the unexpected and the beauty that can be found in a little bit of chaos. I'm not one for following the rules—I much prefer experimenting, making a mess and seeing where the creative process takes me.
I create from my home studio in Fyansford with a view of a beautiful garden that's constantly changing with the seasons. Add a great coffee and the occasional interruption from my almost-grown kids, and I'm pretty much in my happy place!
